KRISTINAS STEAMPUNK KEYBOARD, V2
9th-May-2010 04:09 pm
cartoony, ontv, santa, humbert, Kristina dancing behind me, sad, fast motion me., cartoony-updated, get some, live, industrail, steampunk, steamhead, Recent-steampunk, chloe - hits - you, artsy
Okay, so anybody who's seen us live in the last year or so might have been able to tell us sooner then now that it was about time Kristina got a new Keyboard. Which basically means I've got some work to do. Yikes.

.

K's old keyboard was gorgeous, but since it's on its' last legs, I got some improvements I want to make. The old one (details above) had neat touches, but only stuff Kristina could see. Most of its beauty was hidden from the audience. The new one I am making to "face" the crowd; the details will be front of stage. I also didn't the old ones square "wind shield". Square is NOT Steampunk.

This weekend is the only time I have to build this between now and The Edison. I will post updates as i go. Here is the sketch I whipped up in Photoshop based on the supplies I have. Lets see if i can pull this off:

(click for details)

Notice it has built in speakers. This is so Kristina can play off stage, as well as on. Why should Nathaniel and me get all the fun?

Are you going for a flat Tesla globe on the screen, or for a full sphere?

Remember to wear your goggles. That much awesome shouldn't be gazed upon directly without proper eye protection.

Did you guys ever find out what happened with the comp. @ the Maker Faire? Was it a simple crash, or was it a symptom of K's dying keyboard?

That looks absolutely beautiful. You're definitely an artist in every sense of the word. Looking at the guitars alone it's apparent you have a considerable amount of skill.

What are you planning to do with the old one? Will you reuse most of the non-essential parts?

You're work is always amazing. It's shocking.
